About the Editors
Ram Sarup Singh is a Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Punjabi University, Patiala, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Punjabi University and has extensive research experience in industrial biotechnology, focusing on the production of enzymes, biopolymers, glycoproteins, and biofuels from fungal sources. Professor Singh has over 300 publications to his credit, including numerous research papers, books, and book chapters. He has been recognized with many national and international awards, including the INSA Visiting Scientist award and a MASHAV-UNESCO Fellowship, and is a Fellow of several scientific societies, including the Biotech Research Society of India. He has also served as a Visiting Professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL).
Ashok Pandey is a Distinguished Scientist at the Centre for Innovation and Translational Research, CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, and Executive Director (Honorary) at the Centre for Energy and Environmental Sustainability in India. With a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, his research focuses on industrial and environmental biotechnology, particularly biomass conversion to biofuels and chemicals, and waste-to-energy processes. Professor Pandey is among the world's most cited researchers, with over 1,350 publications, including patents, books, and papers, and an h-index of 94. He is the recipient of numerous accolades, including the Life-Time Achievement Award from the Biotech Research Society of India and recognition as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Bioresource Technology and is a Fellow of many academies.
Edgard Gnansounou is a Professor of Modeling and Planning of Energy Systems at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), where he directs the Bioenergy and Energy Planning Research Group. He holds a Ph.D. in Energy Systems from EPFL. His current research is centered on the techno-economic and environmental assessment of biorefinery schemes for agricultural residue conversion. Professor Gnansounou has authored numerous scientific papers and serves on the editorial board of Bioresource Technology.
