Robert Dilts has been a developer, author, trainer and consultant in the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) - a model of human behavior, learning and communication - since its creation in 1975 by John Grinder and Richard Bandler. A long time student and colleague of both Grinder and Bandler, Robert also studied personally with Milton H. Erickson, M.D., and Gregory Bateson.

In addition to spearheading the applications of NLP in education, creativity, health, and leadership, his personal contributions to the field of NLP include much of the seminal work on the NLP techniques of Strategies and Belief Systems, and the development of what has become known as 'Systemic NLP.' There is an abundance of papers, monographs, and books that address qualitative properties of such networks. However, whereas in these works, the analysis of the networks is frequently incidental to the achievement of some other principal goal, in the present book the network itself is the primary object of inquiry. Works in which the primary object of study is the recurrent neural network itself are rare. [content title="About the author"]Anthony N. Michel grew up in Romania as a member of the Banat Swabian ethnic minority. Prior to emigrating to the United States in 1952, he lived for five years in a displaced persons camp in Austria.

After receiving a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1958 from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he spent seven years in the aerospace industry. In 1964, he received a master's degree in mathematics and in 1968 a PhD in electrical engineering from Marquette. In 1973 he received a DSc in applied mathematics from the Technical University of Graz, Austria. [/content]

Dean is the CEO and co-founder, with Simon G. Talbot, MD, of The Moral Injury of Healthcare (fixmoralinjury.org), a nonprofit organization reframing how best to understand and address distress in the healthcare workforce. Together they also cohost the podcast, Moral Matters.Gavin obtained a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from King’s College London and then a Ph.D. in Genetics from University College London.
